Planting good energy in all corners of the country, G-3 is asserting himself as a hip- hop artist, songwriter and producer with a producer with a charismatic presence. ​ ​ Born Greg Watkins III, he hails from Detroit, MI where he first rooted himself in music. Despite spending most of his life in the Detroit area, his time on the South and West Coasts has made an apparent influence on his sound. G-3’s passions for music and songwriting led him to secure a degree in Recording Arts from the Los Angeles Recording School. A lover of all artforms, his appreciation for film and literature are often referenced in his music. When structuring his work, his creativity consistently calls-on on theatrical themes and novelistic approaches he hopes will intrigue the minds of those listening. ​ ​ Over time, the milestones along G-3’s journey have increased at an impressive rate. In 2014, his single "Caramel Mocha" was hand selected by Quincy Jones to join the tracklist of Fresh Cuts, Vol. 10, the legendary producer’s compilation album with Guitar Center. A few thousand streams later to 2017, G-3 lived what some would call a rap-fairytale when he was selected to perform alongside Nas during Atlanta's A3C Festival. Now releasing some of his best work yet, he hopes to write a new chapter and secure his space among Hip-Hop's elite.
